    Utility Board: 1 regular member, 3-year term; 2 alternate members, 1-year terms
    Recreation Committee: 1 alternate member, 1-year term
    Tree Committee: 1 regular member, 3-year term

  • 2024 Dog Registrations: 2024 dog registrations are now available and due by Jan. 31, 2024. Please bring in proof of Rabies Vaccination and payment; $6 for a spayed/neutered dog and $11 for a non-spayed/neared dog.  REMINDER: Please remember that dogs need to be leashed or owners need to have verbal control of their dogs when out walking around the community at all times. Also, DO NOT leave doggy waste, please scoop the poop!!
  • Emerson Hall Drop Off Box:
    There is a Drop Off Box near the front doors of Emerson Hall for your convenience to drop off water/sewer payments, tax bill payments, paperwork, etc.
    YOU CAN DROP OFF BALLOTS HERE DURING ABSENTEE VOTING TIMEFRAME.
    The Town Office staff will be checking it regularly.  
  • Transfer Station & Curbside Pick-up Programs back to NORMAL SCHEDULES:
    Transfer Station:  Monday: CLOSED; Tuesday thru Friday: 8AM to 1PM; Saturday: 8AM to 12 Noon; Sunday: CLOSED

    Note: T&C Mkt sells trash stickers during their regular business hours.

Saturday, December 9
  • Family Movie Night: The Snowman Saturday, December 9  4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Emerson Hall, 67 Court St, Castine, ME 04421, USA

    The Castine Arts Association and the Witherle Memorial Library will sponsor a Family Movie Night at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 at Emerson Hall.

    The event will include a double feature, The Snowman and The Snowman and the Snowdog, both based on Raymond Briggs’ 1978 picture book, The Snowman. Both tales are told through animation and music scored by Howard Blake. The movies have no words except for the central song, ``Walking in the Air.’’ The orchestral score is performed by the Sinfonia of London.

    Admission is free. The Adams School 8th grade class will sell concessions at the event. Proceeds will support the annual class trip.
