The Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 4 pm in Emerson Hall. Application forms for building permits and historic preservation certificates are available to print from this website or can be obtained at the town office from the CEO.

The Planning Board meets the first and second Thursday of each month at 7 pm in Emerson Hall. The first Thursday is a work session to review applications for completeness. The second Thursday is the regular business meeting. The meetings are posted in the Castine Patriot several weeks prior to the meeting date and gives a deadline for the submission of any applications. The meetings and agendas are also posted on the Municipal Bulletin Board, Public Access Cable Channel 7 and the website. Application forms are available to print from this website or can be obtained at the town office from the CEO.

    American Cruise Lines Ship the Independence (capacity approx. 100 passengers) arrives in Castine each Monday morning at 9am (June 10 - September 23). The ship anchors in the harbor and ferries passengers to the Town Dock. Passengers enjoy the sights, shops and eateries of Castine for about three hours, until the ship departs at noon.
