This week at Town Hall

  • Town Reports: The new edition is available at the Town Office M-F, 8AM to 3:30PM.
  • Spring Hydrant Flushing: Fire hydrants in the Town of Castine will be flushed starting on May 3 through May 9.  During this period, expect intermittent pressure fluctuations and occasional yellow water.  The yellow color in the water is due to the presence of iron.  We are also flushing the distribution system to test flow rates and pressures at specific hydrants.  When experiencing yellow water, do not use Clorox/bleach type products with your laundry.  Flush appliances and drain water heaters following the flushing period.  Call the Water Department at 326-8540 if you have any questions.
  • Street Sweeping: Tues, May 4th, weather permitting. Please do not leave large debris in the streets including big sticks, branches and piles, etc.
  • Help Wanted – Dock Attendants: The Town of Castine is seeking responsible individuals to work as Dock Attendants at the town dock during the 2021 boating season. A job packet is available at the town office or click Job Packet – 2021 Dock Attendants to print a copy.
