Boat Registration Renewal Online Service - Community Park/StoryWalk UPDATES & Frequently Asked Questions: The Community Park/StoryWalk is in its final stages and should be completed soon. The pathway is almost done, and plantings were going in the other day. Next, mulch will be added. Related vehicles and materials remain on the upper lot and roadside until final completion.
- We are solicitating ideas for an official name from the community; if you have a suggestion, please submit it to: ina@castine.me.us or drop it in writing to the Town Office
- The project should be completed in October with an opening celebration to take place in Spring ’26

Community Park Frequently Asked Questions: FAQs Castine Community Park
- Interest on Tax Bills: Property Tax bills were due Friday, 9/19 /25. Interest is now accruing. Please contact the Town Office to get a payoff. We accept postmark and payments can be dropped off into the Emerson Hall drop off box. Thank you.
- Castine Acadia Dock Pumpout Services and Town Floats REMOVED for the Season: The pumpout services on the Castine Acadia Dock are available Saturday & Sundays throughout September from 10AM – 2PM.
Town Floats will be removed for the season on Thursday, 10/16 at 7AM. If you have a dinghy stored on the Town Floats it will have to be removed by 10/16/25. - Curbside Recycling Pickup Program: the Fall schedule will begin Tues, 10/7 and will continue on the first & third Tuesdays thereafter.
- Castine Harbor/Waterfront NOTICE: Maine Maritime Academy’s (MMA) pier project is well under way. Work will continue for another, possibly two years. Boaters MUST be aware of the absolute necessity to abide by the substantially larger “No Wake” zones during MMA’s construction. Any wave reaching the construction area could create a dangerous situation for the workers, therefore, it will not be tolerated. Boaters will need to keep, at least, 500’ away from the site at all times and slow to a zero-wake speed.

(207) 326-4502 or email: townoffice@castine.me.us. - 2026 Dog Registrations: 2026 Dog Registrations can be processed starting October 15th. Fees = $6 for a spayed/neutered dog and $11 for non-spayed/neutered dog. Please bring current Rabies Vaccination.
REMINDER: Please remember that dogs need to be leashed, or owners need to have verbal control of their dogs when out walking around the community at all times. Also, DO NOT leave doggy waste, please scoop the poop!! - Curbside Pick-up: Trash pickup every Monday morning (except public holidays) place curbside by 7.30AM with trash sticker attached; Recycling Fall schedule will begin on Tuesday, 10/7 and continue the first and third Tuesday thereafter – place acceptable recyclable items in clear plastic bag curbside by 7.30AM.
Transfer Station: Monday: CLOSED; Tuesday thru Friday: 8AM to 1PM; Saturday: 8AM to 12 Noon; Sunday: CLOSED
