Schedule of Rates of the Castine Water Department
Effective January 1, 2017.
Quarterly and Seasonal Rates for Water to Metered Customers.

Quarterly Rate
A minimum meter charge for 800 cubic feet as listed below.
For the next 1600 cubic feet per quarter: $12.60 per 100 cu. ft.
For all in excess of 2,400 cubic feet per quarter: $14.70 per 100 cu. ft. Quarterly billing occurs in April, July, October, and January.

For all in excess of 2,700 cubic feet per season: $14.70 per 100 cu. ft. Seasonal billing occurs in April for minimum water and in December for any water overage and sewer.

Annual Rates Fire Protection – Private Service
For each fire hydrant installed on owner’s premises: $1,920.

For each service main entering a building for the supply of standpipes or sprinklers, an annual charge according to the diameter of the service as follows:

2″ service $640.00
4″ service 1,280.00
6″ service 1,920.00
8″ service 2,560.00

Beginning in 1998, the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act requires all community water systems to distribute an annual Water Quality Report or Consumer Confidence Report. The reports are filed and distributed by July 1 for the previous year (see below).

    Fall Supper Club - A benefit dinner for the Adams School Calvineers

    As the cool temps of fall arrive, we hope you will join us for a delicious Fall Feast.
    This special fall menu will include warm, hearty, comfort food and $20 from each ticket will go towards the Calvineers fundraising efforts as we help them reach their final fundraising goal. Throughout their summer vacation the Calvineers have been working hard on raising funds so they can attend the 2nd World Marine Mammal Conference in Barcelona, Spain, to present their work on the critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whale.

    Cocktails begin at 5pm and dinner promptly at 6pm.
