The Castine Arts Association and the Witherle Memorial Library will sponsor a Family Movie Night at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 9 at Emerson Hall.

The event will include a double feature, The Snowman and The Snowman and the Snowdog, both based on Raymond Briggs’ 1978 picture book, The Snowman. Both tales are told through animation and music scored by Howard Blake. The movies have no words except for the central song, ``Walking in the Air.’’ The orchestral score is performed by the Sinfonia of London.

Admission is free. The Adams School 8^th grade class will sell concessions at the event. Proceeds will support the annual class trip.

It will be held for discussions on the location for a new Castine Fire Station with members from Olver Associates, Port City Architecture, Sevee & Mahar Engineering, Geologist Peter Garrett PhD and the Castine Fire Department leadership will be in attendance.
