2017 Bastille Day Festival

Friday, July 14th

Join us in Castine for a Bastille Day Celebration on July 14th, the French National Holiday that connects Castine to its French heritage, which includes the Baron de St. Castin.  French cooking demonstrations, our signature Picnic en Blanc dinner, educational lectures on our rich history, children’s carnival on the Common, and a waterfront concert are just a few of the exciting events being offered throughout our third annual Bastille Day celebration.

The Baron’s Beach and Beacon 5K race, which begins at 9am on Saturday, July 15th, will be run by summer residents, visitors, and nearby communities in the Downeast area. Our 5K run will begin at the waterfront overlooking Penobscot Bay and extend to Castine’s historic Dyce Head Lighthouse.
